Olympics-Inspired Eagle Nebula Designs

You might not be able to skate like an Olympian, but now you can dress like one! We were so excited to see Nathan Chen rocket to a gold medal at the 2022 Winter Olympics for men's singles figure skating in Beijing adorned in the Eagle Nebula (designed by Vera Wang and identified by the experienced eyes of Judy Schmidt), that we had to create our own version!

Our design is based on a visible-light image of the Eagle Nebula, also known as M16, from the MPG/ESO 2.2-metre telescope at the La Silla Observatory. The nebula of gas and dust is illuminated from within by hot, young stars over 6500 light-years away, toward the constellation Serpens (the Serpent).
