This beautiful pin is a real conversation starter. I have received many compliments on mine. The mirror resembles a piece of honeycomb and it’s commonly known that the comb the honey bees construct is one of nature’s strongest structures. My parents and grandparents were professional beekeepers and were known all over the world for their extraordinary section comb honey. They actually bred their bees to construct their award winning comb honey. As a retired structural engineer, I used the hexagon genre to design my patented formwork systems that construct the world’s largest structures. A beautiful example of a hexagon in space is located on the North Pole of Saturn which is testament to the strength of this beautiful geometric shape. The engineers that designed the extraordinary James Web Telescope mirror certainly blended strength, connectivity and beauty into their incredible design. God’s tiny insect, who asks so little but gives so much in return, is truly honored by this beautiful telescope mirror and the exquisite handcrafted pin. As an astrophotographer, I am honored to wear this pin as it holds a special place in my heart as all of you can imagine.
