Mismatched spacecraft + science earrings are the perfect conversation starter and teaching tool! These vibrant, lightweight earrings are made from upcycled cereal boxes (really!) and supremely durable. The Lucy mission is named after the famous fossilized human ancestor and will visit eight asteroids. Most science targets are Trojan asteroids near the orbit of Jupiter, including the binary pair Patroclus and Menoetius included in these earrings! Lucy is scheduled to launch in October 2021.
Earrings are ~0.75-1 inch in size, made from locally sourced paperboard with a clear protective coating, on surgical steel wire earrings. Avoid getting this piece wet in order to preserve the image. Made in Pennsylvania, USA.
