We are thrilled to have one of the first and most popular t-shirt designs from our BOOTHtique available in our online shop! Designed by spaceflight photojournalist Pacalin, the t-shirt features three historic astronomers who changed our understanding of the stars.
Henrietta Swan Leavitt developed a system for measuring galactic distances by tracking the luminosity of stars. Annie Jump Cannon classified hundreds of thousands of stars, devising a system that is still in use today. Cecilia Payne-Gaposchkin determined the temperatures of stars by understanding the amount of hydrogen and helium in them, and her 'Stellar Atmospheres' is widely acknowledged as the most brilliant Ph.D. thesis ever written in astronomy.
T-shirt is 100% combed and ring-spun cotton pre-shrunk fabric with side-seamed construction and shoulder-to-shoulder taping. Soft and lightweight with a slight stretch. Blank t-shirts sourced from Guatemala, Nicaragua, Mexico, Honduras, or the USA.
