Discovery first launched on August 30, 1984 and remained in service for more than 27 years. Among its many accomplishments was the work done on the International Space Station and carrying the Hubble Space Telescope into orbit. It is now on exhibit at the Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center of the Smithsonian National Air & Space Museum.
Model is ready to be assembled from two sheets of laser-cut color-engraved steel, assembled size 4.5 inches long, 2.8 inches wide, and 2.3 inches high. Recommended tools are wire cutters and tweezers or needle-nosed pliers. Moderate difficulty, recommended for ages 14+. Made in China.
