#WCW with Briley Lewis

Today is the first #WomenCrushingitWednesday feature of our new shop, featuring multi-talented astronomy graduate student & artist Briley Lewis, founder of AstroBriles!

Briley makes earrings with polymer clay replicas of planetary & astronomical objects that have been super popular at our research conference BOOTHtiques over the last couple years. For our online shop we’re focusing on the minor bodies of the Solar System, which Briley renders in recognizable detail. These objects are particularly apropos given Comet NEOWISE's current visibility and yesterday's anniversary of the New Horizons Pluto fly-by. Briley also makes zines and writes for AstroBites, a daily blog about astrophysics careers and research by graduate students in astronomy. And this is all in addition to her research on planetary and exoplanetary systems as a graduate student at UCLA. I think you'll agree with me that Briley is crushin' it!

Excellent Pint Glass to commemorate a great NASA achievement

As a member of the Chandra flight engineering team, successfully operating the observatory for the past 25 years, it is great to see others appreciate what we have accomplished. The Pint glass is well made and is a great addition for any NASA enthusiast out there.

Adorable Saturn!!! 🪐

I am delighted to add Saturn to my little Celestial Buddies collection! Saturn is very soft and incredibly well made, just like the rest of the Celestial Buddies.
These guys truly are fun for astronomy lovers of all ages!!

The perfect puzzle!

I bought this beautiful puzzle in 2023 so that I would have it complete in time for the April 8th total solar eclipse!!
It was a super fun challenge and I enjoyed working away at it a little bit at a time.
The finished puzzle is STUNNING - photos don’t do it justice! Now I have a gorgeous piece of art to display on April 8th (and every other day too!).
And to everyone else who will be viewing the upcoming eclipse, enjoy! This puzzle is the perfect way to celebrate such an awe-inspiring natural event.
